Comparing Toy Story Lands and Beyond

While the toys from Toy Story are already well established in Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong parks, it's almost time for Florida and Shanghai to join in on the fun with Woody, Buzz, and the gang! So let's compare the lands of Andy's favorite toys around the world...

Disneyland Paris - Toy Story Playland

Guests at the Walt Disney Studios Park have been racing with RC, zig-zagging with Slinky Dog, and parachuting with the Toy Soldiers since 2009. It was the first time Toy Story had a designated area in a Disney Park and came around just in time to promote the release of Toy Story 3

Rides:

  • RC Racer
  • Slinky Dog Zigzag Drop
  • Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop

Restaurants:

  • Jessie's Snack Roundup

Shops:

  • Barrel of Monkeys
  • Roundup Outfitters

Hong Kong Disneyland - Toy Story Land

Hong Kong Disneyland's toy box opened up in 2011 featuring a giant Woody to greet you as you shrink down to toy size, along with a giant Rex, a massive paper plane and a Luxo Jr.

Rides:

  • Barrel of Fun
  • Cubot
  • RC Racer
  • Slinky Dog Spin
  • Toy Soldier Boot Camp
  • Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop

Disney's Hollywood Studios - Toy Story Land

The next stop for the most rootin'est tootin'est toys is Disney's Hollywood Studios and, with construction well underway, the 11 acre land dedicated to Pixar's first feature-length film will open to guests Summer 2018.

Most excited for: Alien Swirling Saucers! It's focused around the aliens (obvi) and THE CLAW. I really can't wait to see what they do with this one!

Rides:

  • Slinky Dog Dash
  • Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Toy Story Midway Mania! (well... kind of... it's just a relocation of the entrance)

Restaurants:

  • Woody's Lunch Box

Shanghai Disneyland - Toy Story Land

Shanghai Toy Story Land

Announced only last year, Toy Story Land in Shanghai will be a unique Toy Story experience as it will be both authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese (sounds VERY unique, indeed).

Most excited for: Rex's Racers! Hopping on board RC as he goes higher and higher up the halfpipe track that Rex and Trixie decked out in dino-fashion sounds awesome.

Attractions:

  • Meeting Post - An area where the best toys in the world hang out all day? Umm yes please!

Rides:

  • Rex's Racers
  • Slinky Dog Spin
  • Woody's Roundup

Restaurants:

  • Toy Box Cafe

Shops:

  • Al's Toy Barn

While Hong Kong has the most attractions to date of any Toy Story Land, I'm just SO happy that Toy Story is having such a presence in Disney Parks, everywhere. It's so exciting, in fact, that we delayed our WDW trip just so that we could see Toy Story Land ourselves and I absolutely can't wait to hang with Woody and the rest of Andy's toys!

Let me know what's most exciting to you about these Toy Story Lands, or, if you've already been to one, let me know about your experience. Thanks for reading, pals!
